18.01.2011 - VOLVO = I Roll

From all the cars makers industries, we heard and see a lot of advertisement, promotions, offers, etc. everywhere in the fast moving medias as part of marketing strategy to sell their cars. In Malaysia, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Naza, Citroen, Peugeot and Proton are the main market players monopolizing the automotive market. But when it comes to branding, quality, reliability and good resale value; Toyota and Honda are the main choice compared to others makers. But when we talked about prestige, Mercedez, BMW, VW and Lexus will always be the one that appears in everyone's thoughts including me, except these 2 days where I started to learn there is another brand that have being maintaining low profile, produces good quality cars, known as world safest cars, reliable, good resale value, etc. - VOLVO. I was given the privilege to participate in their 2 days in house training due to some projects that subjected to run by mid of the year, where we were given the full introduction of their systems, car features, their premium class service and quality, vision and lots of information where no one knows beyond their real brand. Unlikely others makers, VOLVO whom has being well known in the world of their strong and reliable car chassis, have different concepts of getting their brand competitive to others premium car makers without extreme publicity and advertisement. Unlikely other premium car makers, including Toyotas and Hondas, brands and quality have being their benchmarks and key to make everyone attracted to them. Unlikely VOLVO; although design, quality and performance plays an important role in their car making and R&D, safety is always being placed as their main core during the R&D phase; to achieve their vision 'By 2020, nobody shall be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo". I am not an extreme car lovers but I do know what people choice are during the past and present and VOLVO have never being a topic to talk about when we talked about cars. I was impressed and fell in love with VOLVO when the National Team introduce their cars to us. Just the safety feature itself is more than enough to impressed me to choose VOLVO than others such as Merz, BMW, LEXUS who carries brands and looks rather than standard safety features that everyone have. ABS, EBD, etc. have being common nowadays, but have you heard about platooning system? pedestrian safety collision/pedestrian detection system? corner traction control? multiple side air bags? side mirror camera and sensors for blind spot? anti sleep drive (preventing the car staying away from the track due to sleep driving)? Advance Stability Control? etc. Well, it might have it to those expensive glamorous cars makers but will they have reasonable price as VOLVO? Chassis as strong and stiff as VOLVO? Trust me... go to VOLVO sales room and take a test drive of all their models demo cars. U will never regret to own 1.
